Girl April 22, 2008

So there is a guy at my work that always calls me girl.  Like I’ll be walking down the hall and he will say “Hey girl”.  I don’t think he knows my name.  I’m okay with that, but today I heard him calling someone else “girl” and it made me laugh a little.

So I was looking through some super old pictures and found this.  I thought it was cool enough to scan and post on here.  So without further ado I give you me, Taylor and Kelly.  I’m not sure what year it was but I was probably like 6 or 7.

So for the past month or two I have been obsessing over the word FALAFEL.  I had never had a falafel but I thought it was a pretty cool word.  So whenever I get bored I think of that word and it kinda makes me laugh a little (in my head I’m laughing I’m not a crazy lady who starts laughing for the hell of it).  So a week or two ago I said that I bought a falafel kit from the awesome manufactures Fabulous.  Well I decided last night was the night and I was going to make me some falafels.  So I mixed my kit and broiled it and put it in a pita with lettuce and thought it was going to be totally awesome.  And it was awful!  Icky-Sicky-Never want to eat again awful!  So just an FYI, I do not like to eat falafels, but I do still like the word.

In other news.  I won!  I never win blog giveaways and I won a really super cool one!  The girl who had the giveaway has a parrot named Charlie and I truly believe that her parrot picked me because I have a bird named Charlie too.  he he! Anyways… check out the blog that I won stuff from cause it’s pretty exciting for me.  Oh and check out her ETSY store because her stuff totally rocks!

Ok that’s all for now.  I’ve gotta get to work.  My boss is out of town and that means I have a super duper lot of work to do. 

P.S. Thought it was kinda funny but my boss left a copy of his signature on my desk last night so I can replicate it.  Don’t know why that’s funny to me, but it is.  I’m a freaking dork!

So I’m off of Express for this week, again, because of my foot.  Doctors orders.  I’m not allowed to work until the doctor gives me permission which could be 2 or 3 more weeks.  I will see him again next Monday so hopefully we will find out what to do.  Its just killing me.  It feels worse than it did like 4 days ago.  WTF!  So now EVERYONE at Express is mad at me and I feel horrible, but I really cant do anything.  Please foot.  Start to heal because I hate when people are mad at me, usually I can try to find a way to fix it, but I cant fix this.  There is no way I’m going to be walking on my foot for 8 hours when it hurts to walk on it for 15 minutes.

So today I feel very somber-maybe thats not even the right word.  I feel like blah, like nothing.  I dont know why.  Nothing is wrong.  Nothing is upseting me- other than the usual. Nothing is making me happy.  I just feel balanced but I dont know if thats a good thing.  I’m used to feeling super chatty, super happy, super upset or super something.  I’m always to the extreme and right now I feel nothin.  WIERD!  I dont like it.  I hope it gets better and I start feeling super something or I might be on the wrong pills again.

Why dont nurses ever return my phone call?  I just dont get it.  I dont know if I should call back or not.  It’s been like 3 hours and still nothing.  Ugh!

fun stuff, ya know April 18, 2008

Sooo… I’ve order my pictures from Winkflash this morning and I keep checking to see if it has shipped!  I am such a nerd because I know that it wont ship until Monday or something.  I got 52 pictures for less than 8 bucks and that including shipping.  I didn’t get a chance to order them before now so I didnt get the awesome deal of 6 cent prints, but I did get their normal price of 8 cents per print, so I really only spent an extra buck on it.  WHAT A DEAL!

I worked on my bird project last night.  I didn’t have chipboard to cut in the size I wanted this book to be so I got creative and used cardboard from a mailing box and cut it and glued my bird cut outs on there.  Yes!  I’m not finished with it, but hopefully I’ll get some time to work on it today.  Not sure what I’m going to do with it.  I may make a little Charlie book but we will see.  Oh I also went to the Dollar Tree on Wednesday and I bought these little chipboard albums.  The come with an ugly cover BUT i took the chipboard out and put paper on it.  It’s pretty cool because the holes are already cut into it so I dont have to worry about that.  I do need to buy a hole puncher, something I really should have!  I may go buy a few more and make bigger books.  But this is pretty freaking cool! I’ll post pictures of that when I get it finished.

So there was an earthquake this morning that was felt here in TN. Everybody is talking about it at work. It’s funny to me because I didn’t feel it, I kept sleeping. I guess living in California my entire life that I have become quite used to it and it doesn’t affect me the same way it affects people out here. It’s probably the same feeling that they get when we have a tornado warning, they all say “It’s just a tornado warning” while I’m freaking out. HA! Okay, that’s it again, just wanted to note this cause it was interesting to me.

National Scrapbook Day is May 3^rd and I spoke with our manager at Express and she said that she would change my schedule for 5-close that night but when the schedule was posted I was scheduled for 11-8.  It’s not a big deal; it’s just a bummer because I was really looking forward to getting to go to a big crop that day.  Oh well!

I dont have a witty title for right here April 15, 2008

I’m really bummed because I can’t scrapbook while I’m on my lunch this week, or while I’m wearing my “BOOT”.  I was going to try and bring just a few key things that I’d like to use but the problem I have is that I think of things I want to use while I’m making the page and then I get mad because I don’t have what I want.  Plus I really don’t have 5 hands to carry all my stuff.  So I’ve decided that during my lunches that I’m going to just look at the SIS Strut your stuff section and look at all the different layouts that I like, add them to my favorites and then get ideas from them.  I may even print them out and put them in my inspiration book.  I really want to start using that, I guess I will get some times to do it now. 

 

I went to the foot doctor yesterday and had a good experience.  He looked and my black and blue foot and said that I needed a different boot.  So I am now sporting a pretty cool gray boot.  It’s smaller and lighter than the one I had before, so I really like it.  It’s a lot better!  He also told me that I can’t wear heels, dang it.  So now I’m wearing the only flats that aren’t Converse or Vans. They really aren’t business professional but I’m really short and the smallest heel that I have in a work shoe is an inch so I can only do what I can right now.  So I guess I look silly with my tan and light pink polka dot shoe, but I bet that’s not what’s really making me look silly as much as the large gray boot on my left foot is.

 

 

Oh the Preds won last night so we are super excited.  Dave and I are going to try and buy tickets today for the game on Sunday.  Please cross your fingers that it happens because it would be so much fun to go to that game.  Good luck tomorrow guys!  But if you win this series and you have to play the Ducks then I will NOT be rooting for you! 

 

Ok that’s it for now.  I’ll probably write something later because we all know that’s what I do when I get bored!

What a weekend…… April 14, 2008

So… um ya.  I had a fun weekend.  I worked at Express on Friday night and Saturday morning.  I was supposed to work yesterday but I didn’t.  I had to call out but I couldn’t help it.

 

Saturday we went over to Seth and Megan and we were drinking a little-or a lot- and Megan, Jenny and I decided we needed to go on a walk. Hmmmmm….. Bad Idea # 1- going on a walk when you can’t see straight.  So we were having a good walk and we were talking and whatever and I guess I decided I needed to skip.  There is Bad Idea # 2- skipping when you cant see straight while you are walking. And I roll my ankle-or so I thought.  Then we decided that it would be fun to run and race. So I ran thinking that my ankle was hurting a little bit.  Bad Idea #3- Running when you can’t see straight when you’re walking and skipping and you’ve already hurt your foot.  So when we got back I decided I needed to drink more and then kept complaining about my foot.  When I woke up on Sunday my foot was freaking bruised and swollen and when I went to the Walk-In clinic they said I fractured my foot.  It hurts like a mo-fo!  So now I have crutches and a walking boot.  I have to go see an Orthopedic tomorrow to find out how bad I hurt it and what I need to do exactly.  So I don’t get to go to the gym right now cause my foot is hurting.  Oopps.  I have a few pics to share.

 

I’ll write more later.  Gotta get back to work for now.

Told you I would write again……

 

I’ve been changing the look and feel of my blog like 3 or 4 times a week.  I just don’t LOVE how it looks.  So I am still trying new things.  I kinda like what I right now.  I think it’s nice and I love the colors.  I’m a big green and brown person, maybe that’s why I like trees so much.  HA!  So if you notice it changing a lot that’s why. Plus I get bored so I like change.

 

I was thinking today about all the weird random dudes that try to talk to me when I’m waiting at the light cross-before or after work.  Why do they try to talk to me.  I clearly have the “leave me the fuck alone” look on my face, yet they still try.  So I am cordial but we both know that I don’t want to talk to them.  It’s not like they are cool dudes either, it’s those guys that work at Walgreens that are walking home, which is at the cross section of Nolensville and Harding (because I desperately needed to know this) and it’s going to take them 2 hours to get home.  I don’t know if the guy is waiting for me to say “Hop right in buddy”, but I’m not.  I am the most paranoid, biggest scardy cat in the world and I would not let ANYONE that I do not know in my car.  Here are a few other funny quotes that the random dudes have said to me. “I’m not a robber, just an alcoholic who needs money to buy something to drink”, another dude said “I’m not gonna rob you I’m just a former alcoholic who needs food”.  Whats up with them not being robbers, like I’m going to give you money because you have now told me you aren’t going to rob me.  But I truly belive the best quote from a random dude came from Mr. I fell in the snow Man, he said “Can you help a man out and pay for my prescription, it’s over there at Walgreens.”  Now I don’t know about all of you but I look like I’m about 15 years old so when some dude think for some reason a 15 year old girl has money to buy him something then I think maybe he’s a little bit nuts. 

 

Okay now you all think I’m a bitch.  Well I am, but only on Fridays.  HA!

 

Oh guess what, it’s raining today so while walking across the street from the parking lot to my office, I only got splashed 4 times by cars.  I was yelling every curse word known to man.  Can’t wait to move to our new building in October. 

 

Wow!  I’m complaining a lot today!  Enough of that.  I’m super excited because I did another layout today.  I think it’s cute and I love it.  I’m kinda silly because unlike everyone else who actually eat their lunch on their lunch hour I decide to close my office door and scrapbook.  I need to remember to bring my stuff home tonight.  Of course when I’m making a page I think to myself, “Self… you should have brought this from home, that would have made this page awesome”, so I bring it the next day and that’s when you come into my office/scraproom and see 1 corner filled with scrapbook shit.  Oh well!  Better bring that home tonight!

 

K. I’m done writing for now, but I bet I’ll write again because I get randomly bored and write stuff.
